Avon Brazil, proud to support LGBTQIA+ Pride Month

To celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, Avon Brazil launched a powerful campaign to challenge perceptions.

A series of short teaser videos were released with testimonials from Avon ambassadors and beauty entrepreneurs from the LGBTQIA+ community, including local artist Rosa Luz, Brazilian model Bia Gremion, Avon Sales Executive, Gaby Varconti, and Model and Stylist Igor Bibiano. They shared some of their experiences and what it’s like to constantly attract ‘looks’. At first, these excerpts give the impression that the cause of the attention is perceived strangeness.

On International LGBTQIA+ Pride Day, the group revealed the context behind their testimonials, explaining the true reason that they are noticed; for their ability, talent, personality and achievements.

Rosa Luz commented: "We are human beings like everyone else and we should be able to live our lives without stereotypes.”

Juliana Barros, Marketing Director at Avon added: "Avon values diversity and this campaign is an extension of our internal culture. We believe in the democratisation of beauty and the importance of recognising people for who they are, as human beings and professionals."

Avon Brazil is a signatory of the LGBTQIA+ Business and Rights Forum and consistently promotes the appreciation and visibility of the community, both inside and outside of the company. A group of Associates recently participated in Reaching Out: Brazil Summit, a conference for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and young professionals to connect to new co-workers and share experiences.
