The Avon Foundation for Women Unveils New Branding for Annual Walk Event Series and Kicks off 13th Season as AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer

Events to Take Place in Seven Cities Across the U.S. in 2015

Feb 9, 2015

NEW YORK, February 9, 2015 – The Avon Foundation for Women, the world’s largest corporate-affiliated philanthropy focused on issues that matter most to women, unveiled a new brand and name for its annual walk event series: AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. Formerly known as the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, the AVON 39 series is kicking off its 13th season with a refreshed look, but the same steadfast commitment to eradicate breast cancer. The 2015 weekend events take place in seven cities from April to October.

United by the new theme #Powerof39, the new brand emphasizes action, inspiration, and a fierce resolve to challenge the status quo by walking 39.3 miles in two days. The new brand will also celebrate the strength and philanthropic commitment of participants who raise $1,800 to accelerate breast cancer research; improve access to screening, diagnosis and treatment; and educate people about breast cancer.

“AVON 39 encourages walkers to prove their willpower by the miles they walk, and validate their impact through the dollars they raise,” said Kevin Honeycutt, Executive Director, Avon Foundation for Women. “Our creative objective with the rebrand was to modernize our image to reflect the spirit and attitude of our dedicated participants. We expect this bolder approach will raise more awareness, and therefore more money for the cause - propelling us more rapidly towards our collective goal of ending breast cancer."

Beginning in 1Q 2015, AVON 39 advertising will appear in digital, direct mail, print, broadcast and out of home.

How to Register for AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer:
The 2015 season is open for registration and events will take place in Houston (April 25-26); Washington DC (May 2-3); Boston (May 16-17); Chicago (June 6-7); San Francisco (July 11-12); Santa Barbara (September 12-13); and New York (October 17-18).

AVON 39 The Walk To End Breast Cancer is the largest fund-raising event for the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. Since its launch in 2003, more than 207,000 participants have trekked 6,868,000 miles and raised $550,000,000 in the fight to end breast cancer. Funds raised at each event provide direct impact in the area where the event takes place, and also help make sure that care programs and research programs nationwide have adequate resources to make the most progress possible.  For more information about AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer, visit or join the #Powerof39 conversation on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
