Avon Names Claudia Poccia President, mark

Will Lead mark's Continuing U.S. Growth and International Roll-Out

Jun 24, 2005

Avon Products, Inc. today announced that Claudia Poccia, formerly Senior Vice President and General Manager, stila, has been named President, mark, effective November 1, 2005. She will report to Brian C. Connolly, Executive Vice President and President, Avon North America, and replaces Deborah I. Fine, who left the company in January.

Ms. Poccia, age 45, will lead mark's continuing growth in the United States and spearhead mark's international roll-out as it expands to become a global youth brand of scale. In the second quarter of this year, mark launched in Mexico, its first international market. In 2004, mark achieved sales of $47 million.

Since 1994, Ms. Poccia has held increasingly responsible positions in marketing and sales at The Estee Lauder Companies. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President and General Manager of stila, where she developed and led the company's long-term strategy and implemented marketing initiatives that tripled sales.

Additionally, Ms. Poccia enhanced stila's beauty image with its franchise of 17- to 34- year old consumers while integrating stila with The Estee Lauder Companies' core beauty business. Prior to joining stila in 2000, Ms. Poccia held positions in marketing and sales for Estee Lauder USA and Canada.

Andrea Jung, Avon's chairman and chief executive officer, commented, "We are very pleased to have Claudia assume leadership of mark, which has grown to become one of the top brands for young women in the United States. Claudia's nearly 20 years of beauty industry experience, her deep understanding of what motivates young women, her passion for building powerful brands, and her ability to manage an entrepreneurial enterprise within a large corporation will enable Avon to continue its course of reaching new customer segments.

"We're also excited that Claudia is returning home to Avon, where she was director of field marketing from 1992 to 1994," Ms. Jung added.

Prior to that, Ms. Poccia held positions at Giorgio Beverly Hills and L'Oreal.
