Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE: AVP) today announced that its Board of Directors has nominated Gary M. Rodkin to join its Board. Mr. Rodkin, age 54, is President and Chief Executive Officer of ConAgra Foods, Inc. (NYSE: CAG), a position he assumed in October 2005. "We are very pleased that Gary Rodkin has agreed to become a member of Avon's Board of Directors," said Andrea Jung, Avon's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "His extensive brand-building experience at prominent consumer companies, as well as his broad operating experience, will serve Avon well as we continue to build our brand on a global scale."

"At the same time, we congratulate Stanley Gault on his retirement from our Board, and we thank him for his 22 years of dedicated service to our company," Ms. Jung added. "Stan has made many contributions during his tenure, and has been instrumental in helping to guide Avon as the company has evolved and grown into an almost $9 billion international corporation. His wisdom, insight and business acumen will be missed, and we wish him much happiness in his well-deserved retirement."

During his tenure on Avon's Board, Mr. Gault served as Chairman in a non- executive capacity from November 1999 to September 2001. He also was Chairman of the Board of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company from June 1991 to June 1996, and was Chief Executive Officer of that company from June 1991 to December 1995.
