Avon Names Jill Scalamandre as Group Vice President, Global Marketing

Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE: AVP) today named prominent beauty industry marketing executive Jill Scalamandre as group vice president, global marketing, effective April 1, 2003. She will report to William F. Susetka, president, global marketing.
In her new position, Ms. Scalamandre will have responsibility for driving Avon's global beauty agenda, including implementation of a cohesive brand strategy and development and marketing of breakthrough beauty products.
Ms. Scalamandre, age 44, joins Avon from Prada Beauty, where she created Prada's beauty division and led all phases of planning, developing and launching Prada's beauty brand around the world. The Prada beauty line has won numerous awards for product, design and merchandising. She joined the company in 1999.
Prior to that, Ms. Scalamandre was senior vice president, global marketing at Revlon, where she directed all global marketing initiatives for that company's beauty categories. She joined Revlon in 1980 and advanced through a series of increasingly more responsible positions in marketing and product development. During that time, she was credited for developing and launching the Colorstay brand, and for revitalizing the Almay brand.
