Avon Earns 100% Rating in 2016 Corporate Equality Index

Nov 18, 2015
For a fifth year in a row, Avon Products, Inc.has received a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation's Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is a U.S. benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, which is administered by the HRC Foundation. Avon’s score of 100% designates the company as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”
Avon is among 407 major U.S. businesses which earned top marks this year out of 1,024 businesses that were rated in the report. Andrew Eddins, of Avon’s Global Inclusion Office (GIO) noted, “This year’s 100% rating is especially gratifying because the 2016 HRC criteria significantly raised the bar in the areas of global workforce non-discrimination policy, inclusive non-discrimination requirements for contractors and vendors, and corporate giving guidelines.”
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
HRC Foundation Workplace Equality Program Director Deena Fidas stated, “In this 2016 Corporate Equality Index, hundreds of major businesses responded to our new standards for workplace equality with exceptional leadership. Avon not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values."
